The amazing stilt Queen character (Lucia Tong) and Page (Yaman) with Thurrock’s SeaLion Mascot (Rendered Retina) plus a Town Crier (Mike Ostler) and Mistress of the Robes (Joanne Elizabeth Harrison) led this Pageant. They appeared at Lakeside Shopping Centre, Purfleet-on-Thames, Hardie Park and Grays Town Park. At each venue there was entertainment, face painting, activities and food stalls, with community groups joining in the fun! They were greeted by the Mayor of Thurrock, Jackie Doyle-Price MP, and Cllrs. Qaisar Abbas and Mark Coxshall.

Our Town Crier officially announced the Proclamation of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with Thurrock’s Pageant and Kinetika flags in royal attendance!

The Queen character on stilts symbolises the monarch as Head of Britain, The Commonwealth and the Church. The SeaLion, on Thurrock’s Coat of Arms, represents the maritime history of Thurrock.
