OUR GREAT UNLOCKING EVENT!!
12pm-5pm Sat 31st July
Grays Beach Riverside Park
with Kinetika’s 500 Beach of Dreams Flags
We are thrilled to unlock Thurrock Festival with the Commonwealth Tea Party and by celebrating the reopening of The Lightship Cafe . New owners Anita and Harry Singh will be our hosts, offering a mouth watering range of Commonwealth inspired teas, cream teas and snacks.
The Commonwealth Tea Party also marks the 90th year of the Statute of Westminster 1931 which laid the foundation of the relationship between the colonies and The Crown.
The procession of the Beach of Dreams flags will start at Thameside Theatre at 1.30pm and arrive at Grays Beach Riverside Park at 2pm where the Party takes place.
Commonwealth countries grew and drank a lot of tea! And they were prepared in a huge number of ways. This is a wonderful event to try out different Indian, African and English teas.

His cakes have been selling at outlets in Grays and he has been commissioned to bake a big Greenhouse cake for a 60 year old’s birthday! You can taste his delicious cakes at the Commonwealth Tea Party flavoured with different ingredients from the Commonwealth.
