Grays Beach Riverside Park
To mark the 90th year of the Statute of Westminster 1931 which laid the foundation of the relationship between the colonies and The Crown, we will be celebrating with Commonwealth Tea Party.
DELICIOUS COMMONWEALTH CAKES
Ashley Palimpana is our great 14 year old baker of Commonwealth cupcakes and macaroons. His cakes have been selling at Lulu Cakes and Bakes in Grays High Street and he has been commissioned to bake a big Greenhouse cake for a 60 year old’s birthday! You can taste his delicious cakes at the Commonwealth tea Party flavoured with different ingredients from the Commonwealth.
DECORATE YOUR OWN CUPCAKE
Come and have some fun and try your hand at decorating your own Commonwealth cupcake
The Commonwealth countries grew and drank a lot of tea! And they were prepared in a range of ways. This is a wonderful event to try different Indian, African and English teas.
POETRY BY NEPALESE WOMEN
Enjoy recitations of poems, a dearly loved tradition of the Nepalese.
CHAT WITH LOCAL ARTISTS
Come and meet some local artists and find out about their art in an informal and relaxed way.
If you are feeling peckish, why not enjoy some world foods that you can order from the restaurants in Grays at our Food Station.
